Snake Removal in Grahamstown

Bubbling kassina (Kassina senegalensis) from Morgan's Bay, Eastern Cape.

Plain mountain adder (Bitis inornata) from Eastern Cape, South Africa. Although bland in color, it is one of the most rarely seen snakes in all of Africa.

This past weekend, @javilbn_wildlifephotography and I scoured Grahamstown and it's surrounds, looking for as many herps as we could. Whilst hot and incredibly dry, we still managed to turn up 18 different species of reptile and amphibian in two and a half days. One of the most notable finds was this large rock monitor (Varanus albigularis) from the outskirts of Grahamstown. Thanks @javilbn_wildlifephotography for an awesome picture.
